Microsoft closes nine security holes on "Patch Tuesday"

Microsoft closes nine security holes on "Patch Tuesday" Bonn, Germany - Microsoft released six security updates on its most recently monthly "Patch Tuesday." The patches close up nine security holes in all, indicates the German Federal Agency for Security in Information Technology (BSI).

The holes can be found in Windows, Internet Explorer, and in the desktop publishing program Publisher, among others. They are in some cases being actively exploited by cybercrooks looking to smuggle malicious software onto the computers of unsuspecting users.

Power pack 3 betaMicrosoft Corp. said in blog Friday that it has launched Windows Home Server Power Pack 3 Beta that would improve compatibility with Windows 7 as well as Netbooks and multimedia.

Anyone, who wants to catch the PP3 Beta, will have to join the WHS program on Microsoft Connect, using build number 2361 and download size 19.4MB.
